Club History: Rotary Club of Navi Mumbai Sunrise
History:
- The Rotary Club of Navi Mumbai Sunrise (RCNMS) has a rich history of service and dedication to the community since its charter on 29th June 2007 under Rotary District 3140. Led by Rtn. Dilip Chaudhary as the chartered president and with the guidance of DG Dr. Ulhas Kolhatkar, the club embarked on a journey of impactful projects and meaningful contributions to society.
Key Milestones:
- Charter Year: RCNMS was chartered with enthusiasm and a commitment to Rotary’s values.
- Sponsor Club: During the presidential year of Rtn. Suresh Babu, RCNM Sunrise was proudly sponsored by the Rotary Club of Millennium City.
- Past Presidents: The club boasts 16 dedicated past presidents, each bringing vast experience from the corporate and Rotary spheres.
- Membership Growth: Significant jumps in membership were seen during the Rotary Years 2011-12, 2017-18, and 2019-20.
- In the Excellent Year 2023-24, RCNMS experienced remarkable growth by inducting 22 new members, the highest in any Rotary year since its charter. The club currently stands strong with 89 members.
Community Impact:
Happy Schools: RCNM Sunrise took pride in initiating Happy Schools, with notable projects
- 1st Happy School in RY 21-22 at Z.P. School Inampuri
- 2nd Happy School in RY 22-23 at Z.P. School Owe Gaon
- 3rd Happy School in Excellent RY 23-24 at Z.P. School Ranjanpara
Service Areas: The club focuses on all 7 Areas of Focus of Rotary International, 4 Trust Areas of RID 3142, and 4 Signature Projects of our club:
- Child education
- Organ donation awareness
- Medical assistance
- Environmental safeguard
- Rural development
- Women empowerment
- Peace and conflict prevention/resolution
Meetings and Expansion:
- Initially, club meetings were held at Hotel Three Star every Sunday morning.
- In March 2024 in the Rotary Year 2023-2 RCNMS established its own Rotary Centre at A 41, Row House, Sector 12, Kharghar, Navi Mumbai 410210. From 10th March 2024, all club meetings and BOD meetings are conducted at the Rotary Centre.
Expansion & Sponsorships:
- RCNMS sponsored RC NM Central, chartered in October 2020 with 30 members.
- RCNMS sponsored RCNM SAMARITANS, chartered in October 2021 with 27 members.
- RCNMS sponsored RCNM PARADISE, chartered on 24th April 2024 with 52 members.
